A Pair of Detentions Following Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
